Tilton and Gross Families Mourn Local Deaths
Obituaries record the deaths of Mrs. Christian Gross of Franklin Grove aged 65 after heart trouble and Orin B. Tilton a Civil War veteran aged 70. Gross had lived in China township and Franklin Grove, leaving husband Christian Gross, four children, sisters and grandchildren. Tilton, a Pine Rock township native and George H. Hewitt Post charter member, died at Lincoln hospital Rochelle after a long illness, with a funeral at Washington Grove Christian church and a soldier’s burial by local veterans.
