Commencement Week Busy at Local High School
Commencement week drew packed audiences with fine acts by students. Piano solos by Celesta Kersten and Helen Linscott plus violin by Ethyle Knapp opened a program that included class history, prophecy, will, poem, sextet, one act comedy, and a class song amid cheers. The 28th annual exercises Friday featured Rev. J. G. Eller’s invocation, Alice Eddy solo, and Dr Wirt Lowther’s address The Fourfold Secret of a Great Life. Diplomas were presented by Prof. O A Fackler as the 1916 class was lauded for achievement and the alumni banquet followed with 115 in attendance. Bradford Children Day plans were announced for June 18 at 10:00 a m with a large missions offering anticipated.

Youngest Band Director In the World at Chautauqua
Angelo Vitale, a teenage band director and cornetist, to lead Vitale and his Band at the Chautauqua on the fourth afternoon and evening. The program features classical chamber pieces, opera selections, late popular airs, and a novel Anvil Chorus with electrical effects. Vitale previously impressed John D. Rockefeller on Forest Hill estate in Cleveland.

Conrad Krug Sr. died June 11 1916 at 89 in Bradford after long farming life. He was born February 4 1827 in Reichensachsen Germany and came to America in 1853. Survived by six daughters, eight children total with two predeceased, he was a longtime member of Bradford United Evangelical church.
