Miss Naoma Newburn of the State University at Urbana will give a practical lecture on Friday June 30 1916 in the High School Auditorium demonstrating the Government method Cold Pack Canning of meats vegetables and fruits. An admission of 15 cents covers lecture expenses. The Ashton Sheep Yards announce the sheep feeding season with thirteen carloads from Idaho arriving. Knapp and Smith advertise improved facilities and disinfection, with J. H. Gooch managing buying and shipments to Chicago. Fine Scores At Shooting Match Amateurs Shoot For Trophy
A rainy Tuesday crowd watched the Ashton Gun Club shoot. The 150 third event saw Kenni scott Kirkwood Burton Lewis Stanard and Jeter lead with 149 straight of 781 targets. Bert Henning won the trophy by hitting 24 of 25. Jeter won shoot off for second with 24. Strawbridge claimed third. Miss Lillian Finnestad returned home to Creston after visiting Tena and Rose Stephan.
