Farmers Telephone plans 1000 foot cable line this summer
The Farmers Telephone Company seeks to improve safety by building a 1000 foot cable line from the central office west to Clifford Knapp’s residence to prevent tangled wires in windstorms. Woodmen Memorial Service and Local Social Notes
Memorial exercises of the Modern Woodmen of America drew a large local turnout on the school campus. A address by Elwood T. Bailey of Dixon followed a choir program and the service ended with a cemetery tribute and graves decorated by the drill team. Dr. Charles G. Yenerich and Eleanor Helen Flaherty were wed at Dayton Iowa and will reside in Rockford after July. Christian Endeavor met at the Presbyterian church led by John Charters with a focus on Happy Memories. No Bids For Hard Roads Bid Date Replaced
The igbway commissioners report no bids for the June 4 hard road project and will readvertise for bids on Friday June 28. To encourage bids they cut rolling from the contract and plan to do much of the rolling in house using a township five ton roller. Gazette price noted.
