Masons Elect Officers as Ash-ton Lodge Swaps Halls
At Ashton Lodge No. 581 A F and A M officers were elected for the coming year led by Worshipful Master Carl Schade and Senior Deacon Ralph S. Charters. Ashton Lodge 575 Eastern Star also elected officers led by Mary Glenn treasurer and Faye Schade secretary. The Woodmen and Masonic orders will swap lodge quarters after remodeling of the opera house block by Mills and Petrie. The Masons expect to move into larger quarters by mid winter as the opera house closes after a final Royal Neighbors party. The move will leave Woodmen, Royal Neighbors meeting in the present Masonic hall.

Town Officials Meet on Road Care in Amboy
Lee county officials including supervisors, town clerks and commissioners will meet at Amboy city hall on Friday December 18 to discuss highway issues.
