Death removes former minister in Ashton era
Rev C J Frey longtime United Evangelical pastor in Ashton died of heart failure aged 63. Born in Germany 1853 he came to America 1866 and served at multiple Illinois churches before retiring in 1913. He leaves wife five daughters two brothers and a sister with funeral held November 13 at Zion s Evangelical church Chicago.

Emil Weise a former local businessman who once ran a bakery and restaurant here died recently at his Chicago home. He first married Minnie Bode and later Anna Schade and is survived by his wife and seven children. Relatives from this area attended the funeral in Chicago.
