Rural school teams disrupt town traffic incident
Rural schools opened Monday morning as Tony Reitz and George's man worked on an elevator. Bees in a corn crib chased horses, which fled north into town. At Griffith crossing Perry Farrer's ditch crew frightened, then both teams ran down Main Street and were halted at the town pump by William Petrie. One horse suffered a significant scrape on its hind leg from a scraper.

Lafayette band members toast Benedicting member at leader's home
Last Wednesday evening the Lafayette band surprised a member at leader George Orner's home after he became a Benedict. All band members attended as the President John Drummond presented a silver cake dish to Mr and Mrs Tilton and offered best wishes.
