Miller Held 10 Grand Jury After Hold-Up Hearing

Franklin Grove youth Miller faced a Dixon hearing before Police Magistrate Kent on the hold-up charge. Bound over to September grand jury, he posted $600 bonds with signers F E Miller and F D Lahman. States Attorney Edwards opened strong evidence for Westfield, including a hat found near the scene. About 100 Franklin Grove residents attended.

McKenzie to Speak on Campaign at Friday Address

State Senator John C. McKenzie of Elizabeth will speak Friday evening in Daviess County after the band concert. The address will discuss the current campaign issues and his bid for Congress to succeed Col. Frank O. Lowden. John C. Stephan visited Chicago Saturday.

Northwestern plans major upgrades at pumping station

D Vaughan of West Chicago directs improvements at the C N W pumping station including a new 16 by 20 foot pit and a larger settling area. A new penstock will move water east of the depot faster, and a Malta pumping plant is planned as Rochelle station is to be shut.

Union Services Draw Large Attendance at Tent Meeting

The United Evangelical tent on the school grounds hosts Sunday evening services with high turnout. Last Sunday's event filled seats and required extra chairs. Rev. Frank Brewer of Palmer Massachusetts preached an engaging sermon. Next Sunday evening Rev. Frye, former United Evangelical pastor, is slated to speak.

Conclave Attracts Many Knights Templar Parade In Chicago

The Thirty-first Triennial Knights Templar conclave in Chicago drew Ashton Masons and others using excursion rates to view the parade. Illness sidelined several Ashton Knights but four attended Zeller Charters Wetzel and Richardson joined the march which ran from 10 am to near 4 pm. A grand stand half a mile long hosted about 50 000 ladies of the order. J B Farrer and wife visited Dixon on Friday.
