Memorial Meeting for Memorial Day Arrangements
A meeting of old soldiers and citizens is set for Friday April 28 at 7 30 PM in the city hall to organize Memorial day observances. Nearly sixty relatives neighbors and friends attended a post nuptial shower for Mr and Mrs Robert Sanders last Thursday at the mother in law Mrs Sanders home. Edna Stephan and Donald Stephan traveled to Chicago yesterday.

Eighth Grade Commencement Held At Rural High School
The annual rural eighth grade graduation occurred in the high school auditorium on Tuesday evening April 27. Sixteen pupils from seven schools participated in a program including solos, a reading, an address, a saxophone duet, and diploma presentations.

Franklin High Sophomore play delights crowd at Franklin Grove
Last Friday evening Franklin High School seniors presented The Sophomore in the high school auditorium. Wilbur Brecunier and Fern Ackerman starred with Durkes Trostle Brown also praised for strong performances. A fire scare near the Commercial block involved a coal bin at Pfeiffer's pool hall but caused no harm.
