Foxes Found Near Wood Farm Then Shot Old Fox At Range

A local party captured eight young foxes near S. W. Wood farm and brought them to town for display in Charters Drug Store. Miss Eva Hunt shot the old fox at long range to end the chase, with fur to be tanned as a memento.

Reynolds Township Sunday School Convention Report

The Reynolds township Sunday school convention met with full attendance. Morning sessions at Reynolds Evangelical Church featured Rev. F Theisson on Lesson Preparation and Teaching, Rev. F A Graham on Temperance, and Prof. J B Noffsinger on Lessons from the Master Teacher. Evening at Fertile Valley Church drew a crowd with Rev. Graham on Evangelism, Rev. W Wilhelm on the church as community center, and Rev. F Theiss on training teachers. William Heinzeroth was elected township president for the coming year.

Noted Day Speaker Coming To Union Temperance Meeting

A unity temperance meeting at the Methodist church Sunday evening will feature J Scott Hyde of Chicago as speaker. Hyde has led reforms in rail service rules and state-wide campaigns against liquor and cigarettes, and will discuss his faith and work. He has previously spoken in Franklin Grove with high praise.

Chicago Entertainers Cap A Successful Lecture Series

The ninth and final lecture night featured the Chicago Entertainers at the high school auditorium. The group delivered classical readings and humorous sketches including a tele phone sketch with two ladies playing five roles, earning enthusiastic applause. Correction clears Franklin Grove auto in collision

A correction says the Franklin Grove vehicle on the street was not the one that collided with the Rochelle car and the owner Willis Reigle is not to blame. Also notes Chicago artists J P Bergeron and wife will photograph families in Ashton for a limited time.

Auto and motorcycle collision near Mrs George’s farm

Last Friday evening west of Mrs. Sarah George's farm an auto driven by R W Jeter and a motorcycle ridden by David Tracey collided after Jeter attempted to pass. Tracey suffered serious bruises. Jeter helped him to a nearby farmhouse and regrets the accident.

Big Men S Glass Next Sunday

Great preparation has been made for the Methodist Sunday school session next Sunday with the Men's Bible Class of the Rochelle Presbyterian as guests. Rochelle men expect to come 100 strong, with special music and full attendance in the main auditorium. The children's primary meeting moves upstairs to the men's class room for opening exercises.

Faust H Boyd and Miss Anna W Killmer Wed in Ashton

Two prominent Ashton youths, Miss Anna W Killmer and Faust H Boyd, were quietly married Wednesday afternoon at the Killmer home with Rev. J. G. Eller officiating. The couple will reside in a cottage east of the garage after vacating, with extensive wedding congratulations and a two course dinner following the ceremony.
