Franklin Grove mourns two early settlers, B F Dysart and Nathaniel C Roe. Dysart aged 70, suffered a March stroke, survived by son Edward and brother Philip of Dixon. funeral held yesterday. Roe died in Chicago Monday at 68, leaving four children including Harry A Roe of Dixon and Charles S Roe of Ottawa. Franklin Grove funeral held yesterday.

O Neal Opens Dixon District Camp Meeting at Franklin Grove
The Dixon District camp meeting opens Thursday afternoon July 18 at Franklin Grove. Rev Ernest Wray O Neal former city pastor and now leader at First Church Chicago delivers the 2 30 opening address. The local Methodist choir performs in the service and again in the evening with all twenty five voices. Organizers aim to make this year’s camp meetings among the best in history.

Easter Sunday 1911 brought ideal weather, with roads good for automobiling and many in new clothes enjoying the day. Churches held special services and programs. Methodist choir of 25 sang The Easter Message to a packed hall, Presbyterian Sunday school reached 150, evening sermons and concerts followed, and Keystone League programs drew large crowds at United Evangelical, Reynolds Evangelical, and Washington Grove churches.

Dixon chosen for Third Brigade encampment site
Dixon will host the Third and Sixth Infantry Brigade encampment this year, with companies from Rockford Aurora Elgin and other northern towns. Pioneer business man Henry Blanchard dies in Evanston
Henry Blanchard one of the citys first businessmen died last week at his daughter Mrs R L Leffingwells home in Evanston aged about 83. Born 1829 in Newport Isle of Wight England he came to America in 1854 and built the stone house now occupied by Adam Feldkirchner and ran a coal lime salt and hides business. He later sold out to Isaac Earl and returned to run grain ventures building Elevator No 2 in 1878 near O W Griffiths shop. Survived by Ernest Blanchard Mrs R L Leffingwell and Lydia Blanchard. funeral held Saturday at Leffingwells home with Dr E L Eaton officiating. Interment Arlington cemetery.

The electric light plant recently installed in McCade and Weishaar's area began operation Friday noon and by Saturday evening stored enough juice to serve customers. Current goes to Stephan's furniture store Harry Pierces barber shop McCade and Weishaar offices of Dr H A Bremmer and J Griffith. Light is available any time due to a large storage battery. Modern Woodmen arrange five lyceum entertainments for 1911 12
The Modern Woodmen committee contracted with the Slayton Redpath lyceum bureau to present five entertainments next winter. The lineup includes The Anitas singing group, ex-congressman J Adam Bede, The Strollers quartet, Ralph Bingham, and The Musical Favorites with a mixed ensemble. One act was donated to back last winter’s colored quartet. One show per month is planned. A later note reports a caravan of nomads arriving, fortune telling hindered business.
