A new postal order cuts off all mail to Germany Austria Hungary Luxembourg Bulgaria and Turkey. Postmasters must forward or refuse items as directed and suspend money orders with the German Empire. The rule took effect April 6.

Arbor and classroom notes mark MGH school week
Miss Florence Vaupel visited the MGH School on Wednesday March 11. Arbor Day observances on Friday April 18 featured students delivering short talks on topics related to the day. Miss Hobart visited both Junior and Senior English classes Friday morning. Vera Knapp was absent Monday. The Agriculture class took a field trip Monday to study pine trees. The English classes read Sheridan's Rivals and discussed Archimedes with a puzzled pupil misquoting Eureka as soap. In Dixon, Harry F Williams and Miss Mary Witzel were married Saturday at 1:30 at St. Paul’s Lutheran parsonage in Dixon. The couple will reside in Ashton. Williams works for the North-Western railway.
