Growing belief that William Bullock the colored murderer who fled Freehold jail last Friday will not be captured. Clues yield nothing and it is speculated his friends helped him leave the country. John E. Stillwell of Colts Neck seeks Malicious Mischief warrant against Bullock who shot Chief Walsh. Stillwell fears Bullock may return for revenge and keeps his home secured with wary guards.

A baby hurricane struck Asbury Park Wednesday at about fifty miles per hour. The wind toppled trees and blocked Bond Street Sewall Avenue until cleared. Fire Chief Boat ordered horses kept at the fire house and firemen volunteered for standby duty during the high wind.

The Franklin Murphy Association of Hudson County held a Pleasure Bay clambake on the Shrewsbury banks. About five hundred guests attended as Franklin Murphy was honored guest aboard the Pleasure Bay steamboat.
