Deal Lake Bridge Pole Move Sparks Council Debate

The council discussed relocating the electric light pole from the Deal Lake bridge to restore road flow, with reports delivered verbally by the Finance Committee chair. Bequests of Cyrus E Gobet Will Probated at Freehold

The will of Cyrus E Bobst of Asbury Park was probated at Freehold with Edmund E Dayton named executor. Dayton may sell estate, buy cemetery lot in Mount Prospect Cemetery, and place a headstone. Legacies include 850 to Miss Jovie Hamilton and 50 to Lizzie Truckmiller plus 500 to Dayton. One half of residuary estate to James R Bobst, rest to Isa bella Leight, with provisions for funeral expenses and headstones. Executed January 9 1897 with witnesses John E Lanning and Gilbert V Ayres.

Chance for the Seniterium At Asbury Park

Mayor Teo Brosok and Councilman Wil bur met Philadelphia delegates to discuss a proposed large mortarium to be built along the Atlantic coast near New York and Philadelphia. Civil Service Exam for Post Office Held at Asbury Park

A civil service examination under Post Office Department rules occurred last Saturday at the Asbury Park office. Seven applicants took part in a four hour test with questions mainly on geography and mathematics. Papers have been sent to postal authorities in Washington.

Asbury Park Wheelmen OK Six Percent Stock Interest

At the monthly Asbury Park Wheelmen meeting it was decided to award six percent interest to stock holders on their investment. The interest will fund the general stock, not be divided, and grow toward a 3,000 total. Members may sell stock and remain members. resigning members get face value plus accumulated interest from June 1997. The plan aims to boost stock value.
