Forgery Ring Profits from Fake County Warrants
A smooth operating forgery ring netted nearly $3,000 in a week by cashing fake foster care payroll warrants drawn on Alameda County. Warrants, over $200 each, bore forged signatures of two men and one woman and were cashed at Oakland banks, triggering police action and custody of a juvenile suspect. Authorities traced the phony warrants to a Crocker Citizens Bank account used to pay wards of the agency, with signatures supported by fake IDs and a JA card. Public utilities funds were later described, but the main item notes an Oakland forgery case tied to county payroll warrants and a juvenile suspect.
