Across the Suez Canal Egyptian commandos crossed to strike an Israeli armored patrol triggering retaliatory air strikes and artillery duels that lasted through the day while elsewhere Vice President Ky says South Vietnam aims to withdraw all American combat troops by end of 1970 with support troops possibly a year later. The US Army confirms three American POWs released near South Vietnam's northern coast are Pfc. James R. Strickland Coy R. Tinsley and Willie A. Watkins. Brazilian police report militant communist leader Carlos Marighella has been killed in an ambush, a major blow to the movement.

Washington Hospital directors voted to sue former Board Chairman J Timothy Stone to recover funds paid for travel expenses totaling over 3000 dollars. The board cited Stone’s admission that trips billed were not made and demanded receipts to substantiate expenses, which have not been produced.
Washington sources say Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge is frustrated with slow progress at the Vietnam Paris talks and would welcome relief by year’s end. Nixon and Rogers are aware, but officials declined to confirm a formal request to be replaced.
Fremont recreation commission challenged the city council over Centerville Library location. The council declined a review before action on Nov 12 while contract plans with the county library board unfold. Fremont police seized a mass of weapons found buried in Glenmoor Park near the Glenmoor Shopping Center. Officers Tyler and Bradanini recovered a machete, iron balls with chains, barbed wire, tire irons, wooden clubs, steel pipes, baseball bats, knives, and rubber hose. Possessing such weapons is a felony per Lt Neuman.
The Fremont Planning Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall to consider rezoning requests on 23.4 acres for a 193-unit trailer park and mixed uses, 2.9 acres for Wetterstrom commercial to residential zoning, plans for a gas station at Mission and Driscoll, and industrial lots changes in Fremont Industrial Park.
