Wallace Can Spend More On Presidential Campaign
Washington reports that George Wallace faces a higher limit of about 12.5 million for his 1976 nominating bid due to pre 1975 spending. He leveraged an early money fund raising computer list via Viguerie Co, raising 4.3 million and spending 3.7 million by May, with mail and postage driving much of the outlay as donors from across the country give to a southern base.

Miner hits record $70,288 at Harold's Club slot
A 60-year-old Battle Mountain miner won a record $70,288 on a dollar slot at Harold's Club in Reno after about 45 minutes. He had been playing off and on for months as the progressive machine grew until the jackpot paid out. Harold's GM called it the largest ever paid, with a $45,093 San Francisco win previously holding the record.
