California coal sacks saved under federal order

Albert E. Schwabacher, federal fuel administrator for California, issued an order effective last Monday directing that coal sacks be saved. He notes California delivers much coal in sacks and many sacks are not returned or misplaced, forcing continued sack purchases by dealers.

Honor Flag with Liberty Loan Drive Opens April 6

The third Liberty loan campaign begins April 6 with plans to place a Liberty honor flag in every subscribed home. A nationwide flag, reproduced from the Washington flag, will record quotas by state and county and display daily sales as counties go over the top. The Southern California central committee will post subscriber names on a state honor roll in prominent locations. A Mexican service badge will be issued to eligible officers and men, and former service members may obtain authority to purchase and wear it.
