Car Thefts Show Sharp Rise In Los Angeles

A theft bureau report from the Automobile Club of Southern California notes tire thefts rise sharply with 3535 dollars worth of tires stolen since January 1 and a predicted yearly loss of 25000. Three hundred cars stolen this year, 260 recovered, total stolen value about 200000, February alone seeing 126 thefts. Most stolen tires are 34 by 4, with 306x3% and 30x3 following. Locking tires with steel chains could have prevented 75 percent of thefts. Also, White Automobile Company plans summer service between San Bernardino and Forest Home. Fertilizer importers must get licenses by March 20 from the U S Food Administration in Washington.
