New Drug Store Planned Across Street by Urben

The Arcadia city trustees awarded the electroliers contract to B R Davisson Co of Monrovia after bids from Sanders Pearson Co of LA. The project covers cement sidewalks curbs and twelve electroliers from Santa Fe tracks to Fallingleaf avenue on Firat avenue. Work to begin soon and finish before summer. Schools Close After Successful Exhibition Season
Schools closed for the season May 31 with visitor day and a large exhibition of grade work. Rooms were well patronized and refreshments served in Domestic Science. The exhibition was a great success and student work highly creditable. Schools to be renovated during vacation.
Road improvement request from balloon school official
Lieut. Col. Hensley of the balloon school asked the board to improve Fallingleaf avenue from the double drive to the Pacific Electric tracks for heavy traffic. He said they plan to pave inside the camp and would pave outside if allowed, but the area lies outside the reservation. The matter was referred to the street committee and the city engineer.

Balloon School Activities Start
At the Arcadia Board of City Trustees meeting Lieutenant Colonel Hensley announced 500 to 600 soldiers would arrive within a week for the new government balloon school. He said construction would start immediately as Twohy Bros. prepare to move equipment from March Field to Arcadia and complete a large camp for 1200 men to support the project.
