Balloon School at Mount Wilson Expands Training Program
Six balloons are in use daily with two more expected by week’s end. Cadets and soldiers train in the air from Mount Wilson reaching elevations of 6,000 feet to mirror balloon flight observations. The upcoming Iowa picnic in Long Beach on August 10 draws twenty five thousand attendees with speakers and songs. The Army Balloon School band rehearsals begin and Miss Sabel of Pasadena leads camp music with Y M C A support. Pasadena women donate pillows and supplies as headquarters move to new base buildings.
