An old advertisement touts Dr King’s New Life Pills as solving indigestion biliousness constipation and stomach and bowel troubles. The copy proudly claims millions use them at all hours with a low price of 25 cents at West End Drug Store and Miller Drug Co.

The Evening Star raises 10000 to establish a malleable iron foundry in Anniston with Mr. H W Blake offering to subscribe 1000 and run the plant on salary with stock payable at par if unsatisfied. Machinery cited at 3000 plus 7000 for building and working capital. 4450 already on list, 550 more needed to reach 5000. Subscribers urged to help industrial Anniston and call The Evening Star.
The Anniston Trades' Council refused to affiliate with the Socialist party movement in Anniston. A resolution was adopted to not endorse the party and to designate T. J. Lamar Jr. as press agent, with council statements only from him. The meeting was well attended and lively.
A branch of the National Socialist party formed in Aniston last night with twenty five members. Officers names were not released, but promoters are active in distributing Socialist literature and seeking a larger membership. A movement leader expressed satisfaction with the early showing.
In Montgomery, Smith of Clay and Blackmon of Calhoun spar over a bill to hold extra sessions of the seventh judicial circuit in Cleburne and Clay counties. Blackmon proposes semi annual sessions. Smith offers quarterly. The clash features personal accusations and sharp rhetoric before the Smith amendment is tabled and Blackmon’s bill passes 18 to 9.
President Roosevelt hosts five AFL executive council members led by Samuel Gompers and John Mitchell at the White House to discuss Foreman W. A. Miller of the Government Printing Office. He announces he will not dismiss Miller and says the matter of fitness lies in normal administrative procedures.
Mrs W Watkins of Pleasant City reports her son recovered from pneumonia after using Dr King’s New Discovery. The noteworthy claim credits the remedy with curing a severe cough and long diseases. Available at West End Drug Store and Miller Drug Co at 50c and 1.00 with trial bottles free.
Pim MisGellam reports the East Lake Sanday case identifies the woman found as Nellie Sheffield of Fifth Avenue. Post mortem shows knife wounds rather than pistol shots and police favor suicide over foul play though initial fears had grown. Sheffield, a devout St. Paul Catholic parishioner, had eye injury and recent low spirits before disappearance last Thursday.
Dr L Beach of Clover Nook Farm Greenfield Mans says four year stomach trouble improved after using Chamberlain's Stomach and Liver Tablets bought recently. He recommends the 25 cent remedy sold by J L Wikle druggist.
