Aurbured tragedy unfolds as Ma Io Ady dies in a car accident in Nevada while accompanying her husband, leaving a widow and two injured. The report notes the vehicle collision occurred on a rural highway, with emergency responders arriving at the scene.
Mrs. William M. Stewart wife of Nevada Senator Stewart was killed when a car crashed into a telegraph pole on Alameda Avenue California. The vehicle swerved to avoid a collision and Mrs Stewart was fatally injured. Henry Foote and Henry Taylor were riding with her. Taylor escaped with minor injuries. Mrs Stewart visited her sister Mrs Aldrich in San Francisco.
After a very successful season the Oxford Lake Park theater will close tonight. The season pleased patrons and showcased top vaudeville talent. Manager Sexton received liberal patronage as people thanked him for the year. The public awaits next season’s opening of the popular play house.
Anniston will soon have a new ice company named the Model Ice Company. Officers include President J G Farley General Manager L Mallory and Secretary Treasurer Eben Scarbrough. The plant will be centrally located with up to date machinery and a daily capacity of sixty five tons.
The fall term of the city court of Anniston begins next Monday with the grand jury to convene. Judge Thomas W. Coleman will charge the jury as Hon. Wiley Tunstall Jr. serves as solicitor. The main early work includes empaneling the grand jury and sounding the docket. Birmingham reports J. W. M. Queen of Sloss-Sheffield Co congratulated on predicting $25 a ton for pig iron before November. No. 1 foundry iron sold for $25 for immediate delivery, 1993 delivery iron at $20 No. 2 basis. Week's activity limited but prices set record highs with expectations prices will hold.
In St Louis on September 13 authorities report a plotted murder of Circuit Attorney Folk by boodlers enraged by his crusade. Evidence of the conspiracy prompted an urgent security briefing at Folk’s office with Chief Kiely and other officials advising constant armed guard and strict precautions against possible assassination.
The second primary will be held September 15 for state and county officers not chosen in the August 25 primary. For state, only two names appear for attorney general: Alexander M. Garber of Iadega and Massey Widsom. For county commissioner First District candidates are Martin and Patterson. for Third District candidates are Bynum Tarvin and A J Labvin. Voting will be at the same places and by the same managers as before. turnout urged.
J J Cox of Valley View Kentucky suffered severe kidney trouble leaving his feet swollen and confining him to bed. He says Feley’s Kidney Cure cured him and improved his condition after doctors offered no relief.
