Birmingham Sept. 9 It is understood preparations have been made to resume operations at the Anniston plant of the Southern Car and Foundry Company. Proceedings for involuntary proceedings are noted as part of the background to the plant’s status.

Murderer Sumlin Captured Near Fruithurst After Quadrel Shot

John Sumlin, a colored man, was captured in Coughinsville, Georgia, after fatally shooting Frank Palmer at a Fruithurst negro frolic. Sheriff Adams brought Sumlin back to Edwardsville. The last grand jury had returned a murder in the first degree bill against him amid a docket of 111 cases, including 66 crimials with seven homicide firs degree.

They posted $100 bonds and face a Friday 1:30 pm hearing. The case revolves around trespass after warning and disputed possession of the premises.
