News reports from Amite and Balltown in Washington Parish describe a violent race riot with three white men and eleven black individuals killed in Amite area and thirty reported killed in Balltown. Governors Heard and Longino coordinate troop movements to quell the unrest and restore order.
A dispatch from Columbia Mississippi reports six Black individuals shot to death at Live Oak church near Balltown Louisiana, one white man killed and another fatally wounded, and two Black women plus a child burned in the same incident.

Former governor Jos F Johnston returns from California to campaign against the ratification of the new constitution. He will address an Anniston audience at 11 o clock on November 5 and is scheduled to speak in Dadeville on November 7, with more appearances possible in the county.
Mrs Edna Lamar died yesterday at her home 2004 Walnut street and was buried this morning in Edgemont cemetery. Services were held at the residence at 8 o'clock. She was a daughter of KK C Ramsey a well known South Anniater merchant and had many friends in Annis ton who mourn her loss. Call for Kennesaw and get satisfaction. Most cigar dealers sell them.
