The Calhoun County Tax League is organized with President J Sprowitt presiding at courthouse sessions. Plans include expanding the league into neighboring counties and reporting on outcomes from the recent state meeting in Montgomery.
At the Calhoun County Partners’ Union gathering in the courthouse, farmers endorsed the Pamphhead cotton relief plan and sent a telegram to Governor O’Neal urging 40 additional senators to support legislation for plan execution. Senator-elect Charles D. Kiloe urged farmers to hold every bale of cotton and warned that failure to plant next year will worsen the issue.
