The week at Camp McClellan featured Spike Webb of the 112th artillery arguing that top fighters can be devout Christians and still compete in boxing. W S. Graham of Mt Vernon was named general camp secretary for the Y M C A, succeeding Dr. W L Hervey. Rev. E H Dutton, leader of the Rockefeller Bible class, will return to New York City, with Virginia units preparing a farewell for him Saturday night.

Ladies invited to view Camp McClellan in Anniston
Major Charles L. Dulin invites Anniston women to a guided tour of Camp McClellan next Friday afternoon. Cars and transfer trucks will shuttle guests from the Alabama Hotel at 2 36 p m to inspect the camp from motorized conveyances with an officer leading each truck and explanations of camp life. The tour will visit all areas except the base hospital, which is deemed most interesting.

Remount Depot at Camp McClellan Draws Troops and Photographers
Thousands of soldiers flocked to the new remount station near the machine gun outfit at Camp McClellan on Saturday. Carloads of horses and mules arrive daily, with miles of feed troughs hay racks shelters and 25 000 feet of fence enclosing the corrals. Construction workers welcomed heated stores and six large regimental infirmaries are under way for first aid use.
Five Colored Enlistments Send Volunteers to Newport News
The local recruiting office sent five colored volunteers for stevedore work to Newport News Virginia on Saturday. The men named were Sandy M. Williamson Adam Scott John Douglas Fred Camp and Colonel White. Three more men will be sent away Sunday.

False Alarm Startled Clerks at Camp Mesclellan
A Saturday lunch hour fire alarm at Camp Mesclellan prompted Major Stevenson to lead the best hose cart company and contractor staff outdoors. After a quick, noisy evacuation, it was found to be a test with no actual danger, but it proved the efficiency of amateur fire fighters as the hose reached the water in thirty two seconds.

Episcopal Bishop Murray Visits Maryland Parishioners
Rev. John G. Murray bishop of Maryland left for Baltimore Saturday after a brief visit with Maryland men at Camp McClellan. He was entertained by Rev. Carlton Barnwell rector of Grace Church and Gen. Charles J. Gaither of the Maryland brigade. He is known in Alabama from Birmingham to St. Michael's in Baltimore where he was consecrated bishop.
