Special to the Star reports seven hundred striking longshoremen attacked Italian strikebreakers on the North River piers. Nine Sentenced In U S Internal Revenue Violations

The U S court, led by Judge Hundley, sentenced nine men for internal revenue violations and reported ten true bills from the grand jury including indictments of Frank Roberts registry clerk and Postmaster J M Ragan who absconded with government funds from the Anniston post office. The sentences varied from 30 days to 18 months with fines up to 660 dollars.

Montgomery Car Blown Up by Dynamite

At midnight a Montgomery Traction Company car was shattered by dynamite on the southern edge of the city. The motorman and a conductor brothers named Bronson were slightly injured. One passenger, a Black man, escaped unharmed. Striking car men had operated with strikebreakers for three weeks amid periodic violence. Fire hooks were stolen from a roundhouse and pinned to tracks but no damage occurred. A mass meeting was postponed by wet weather while Montgomery businessmen plan a meeting to protect property independently of police.
