Troy New York May 11 Samuel Bolton Sr a millionaire brewer and notable business leader was found dead in a vat of boiling beer at his brewery. Police seek clues while friends view the death as possibly accidental amid city carnival closing actions. The Elks Carnival ends tonight with crowds and celebrations already thinning as Detroit riots erupt on city streets leaving injuries and disrupted order.

Carpenter Crushed to Death in Birmingham Kiln Basement
James Pruet a 65 year old carpenter died when timbers of a dry kiln being built by Reynolds Lumber Company at an expanded facility collapsed. The accident occurred at about 1 o clock at the worksite where several carpenters were employed. The fallen side wall trapped Pruet under heavy timber, killing him instantly. The site was near 12 Photo Parlors in Anniston.

Jury Awards 55000 in Railroad Death Suit
Russellville May 11 A civil suit arising from a death aboard a Northern Alabama line near Gamble mines ended with a verdict for Mansell administrator against the railroad for 55000. The case grew from the death of flagman Sandy Barnett who was instructed to watch a hot box and fell after being struck by a cattle guard as the train passed Jasper.
