London report says Joubert will be buried on his Rosfontein farm with a strictly civil private service. British prisoners at Pretoria sent a floral wreath for the funeral, honoring his memory.
London report says the French army in the Sahara defeated tribesmen with six hundred killed and a thousand wounded. Six hundred prisoners were captured.
Executors of the late Bishop Williams report a ten thousand dollar deposit in a national bank left untouched for years. The funds will be left to Berkely Divinity School in Middletown, Connecticut, as a residuary legatee.
Mr Emil Kohn ex pert buyer for Kohn Bros returned from New York after six weeks selecting spring and summer stock for the firm. The stock is large and complete with dry goods and millinery arriving. Mr Herman Kohn in charge during the absence returned to Gadsden and made many friends in Anniston.
Washington March 30 The treasury is disbursing an average of a million dollars daily on account of premium bonds exchanged for New Twos. These disbursements offset the excess in revenue.

Birmingham March 30 police report Officer George W. Kirkley died at Hillman hospital from a gunshot wound suffered Tuesday night. Two men jailed in Aniston on suspicion remain under investigation. authorities doubt they are the shooters but believe they are linked to a local safe cracking gang.
Mr Judson Purdy district deputy grand master of Alabama Odd Fellows will go to Piedmont tomorrow afternoon to institute a newly organized lodge. Several local Odd Fellows will assist. Twenty two members have already joined with more expected tomorrow.
Rev. 8. BE. Wasson reports that Bishop Galloway will arrive in Anniston tomorrow to lead both services this Sunday. He will preach the dedicatory sermon at the morning service with Dr. J. F. Walker presenting the church. The night sermon will discuss Christian Education.

Jackson Young, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Young, died yesterday afternoon at home after four weeks with pneumonia. The body was taken to Woodruff for burial in the county, and many friends extend condolences to the family.
New York March 30 an employment bureau says it has placed orders in Raleigh New York for unlimited numbers of negro cooks and house servants. The bureau reportedly seeks as many as one thousand of each sex and large numbers of cooks are leaving Raleigh daily, an exodus is under way.
