WOODSTOCK FURNACE STARTED BLAST THIS MORNING AND IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE 200 TONS OF PIG IRON DAILY WITHIN TWO TO THREE DAYS. MACHINERY AND FURNACE ARE OPERATING SMOOTHLY AFTER OVERHAUL. A LARGER FURNACE WILL FOLLOW AS SOON AS MEN AND MONEY PERMIT. ANNISTON AND SURROUNDING AREA REJOICE AT RE-OPENING OF THIS MAJOR PLANT.

A mob in Easonville arrested a man accused of three attempts to enter the Casper home. They whipped him 250 times on the bare back then offered a purse for a railroad ticket and released him as a warning to others.
The Wellington post office was broken into around 1 am and stamps stolen from the safe vault. Postmaster O E Usry investigated after hearing the safe explosion and reported the crime. One man was arrested, bloodhounds were sent for, and Sheriff LeGrand said the burglar had been captured.
Ox ford Lake Park gains a larger boathouse, new pump house with upgraded motors, lake dredging near completion, and two refurbished bowling alleys. A miniature railway track will loop from the boathouse around the hill to the pump house and spring, promising to become a popular feature.
A Black man with two gunshot-like wounds on head and another on back was found between Southern and L&N tracks near the city at 7 30 am by a track walker. Coroner J Murphy noted no inquest yet and suspects death by train. The man, unidentified, appeared to be a tramp with surplus clothing and no known identity.

Cincinnati March 18 The Ohio River rose about four to ten inches since early morning and is expected to rise two more feet before receding. Several manufacturing plants could not open and the entire wholesale district lies underwater.
The flood water has receded but the city lies in mud and debris. Railroads and streetcars have resumed service, and relief work is rapidly carried out by the Y M C A with significant suffering among victims reported.
Fort Sam Houston follows the confession claim of D. C. Gray a negro who says he was in the De uro squadron and helped kill a white man during the Brownsville riot on August 13. The judge advocate orders Gray held in custody to testify in the Penrose courtroom. Mrs Penrose declined to comment.
