Louis Franklin a 45 year old farmer near McFall was shot dead by Arthur Chappel a fellow farmer. Chappel aged 16 or 17 fired three times two shots near the heart and one in the mouth before escaping. Franklin was in Anniston and Oxford yesterday on his way home when killed.
