RE P Cooper manager of the Anniston plant says improvements started over a month ago will finish by midweek. A new cupola and building extension will add about 90 tons daily output and 15 to 20 jobs, increasing payroll by roughly $300 weekly.
William New an aged resident will be carried to the state asylum for the insane at Tuscaloosa tomorrow by Sheriff Brooks after being adjudged unsound of mind.
Jose Yves Limantour, Mexico's finance minister, told reporters in New York that no sensational developments were expected in US Mexico relations and that both nations have long lived as good neighbors. His arrival sparked several confidential meetings with New York financiers.
In Murfreesboro Tennessee Chief of Police Joseph Arnold was shot and killed this morning by Deputy Sheriff Hall after a dispute over arresting several prisoners. Hall was wounded in the leg by Arnold during the confrontation and died shortly after. Hall was arrested at once.

A lone gunman walked into the Grand hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue opposite the treasury building at 3 am seized the cashier and a clerk, robbed the cash drawer of the day’s receipts totaling $200, then fled. The incident occurred in Washington.
Montgomery March 14 The senate judiciary committee endorsed preserving the county tax commissioner’s office and foresees bills to abolish it being withdrawn. House appropriations reach educational funding with a 500000 annual school allotment up 150009. Other actions include dog tax, Sunday baseball, and Montgomery saloon bills.

In Paducah on March 14 a posse hunts sympathizers near Somerset after eleven men were killed in a firemen strike on the Queen and Crescent Railroad. Wire lines to Somerset cut, several detectives and black firemen feared dead, no freight traffic moving.
A large section of Mill Town in Iron River Wisconsin including mills and bottling works was destroyed by a fire early this morning with losses estimated above $300,000. Fire crews fought the blaze as residents stood by. No injuries reported.
J. W. Kennebrew and others obtained an injunction from Judge Coleman of the City court restraining Harbison-Walker Refractories Company of Piedmont from blasting rocks near Piedmont. Sheriff C. T. Brooks served the order Tuesday morning. Complainants allege rocks were thrown into town endangering lives and property. appeal had been made for relief.
Sergeant Doe’s worn medal will be presented to another member of the company as he is out of town. The best drilled man will wear the medal until defeated in a regular drill. Captain Sawyer conducts the event with expert officers judging. Admission is free at the Armory tonight. Assembly at 7:45 for an 8:15 start.
