Howard College Club Formed in Anniston to Aid Enrollment
The Howard College Club of Anniston organized in the Anniston City Land Co. office on Saturday to recruit students for Howard College at Birmingham. Ten men attended, with others eligible, totaling sixteen members. Charles R. Bell elected president with Victor L. Powell as secretary. A $60 annual Howard College scholarship was pledged, and Oxford Baptist Church added another $60 yearly scholarship awarded by its deacons. Dr Montague promoted the educational commission and new student recruiters at local churches.

J J Hendricks long prominent Talladega druggist died suddenly and mysteriously and was buried Saturday. Dr H C Howard of the First Methodist church officiated amid impressive rites. Floral tributes from Birmingham and from Norternos drug store employees highlighted the ceremony. Hendricks had managed that store for over eight years and was popular in local drug circles.
