Taking Stock at Big Car Works

In Gadsden Alabama on July 24 Messrs R A Mitchell and W H Weller filed a chancery bill against the city to test an ordinance repealing a contract with Messia Mitchell and Weller to build a water works system. The suit seeks an injunction and references the ordinances as exhibits noting the City’s alleged interference with street use and the contract. The complainants claim the right to use streets is valuable and that the city is insolvent, asking for council and mayor to answer and for an injunction.
