J M Layton Falls Five Stories From Alabama Hotel
J M Layton a 23 year old Tide Cotton Mill foreman fell five stories from room 98 at an Alabama hotel in Jacksonville. He was found with multiple injuries and presumed dead. Coroner Murphy took charge, and Layton’s body was sent to Sanford South Carolina for funeral services. His father and brother were among mourners and mill officials described him as popular and well behaved.
