London July 19 Petrograd under martial law as agitators threaten a counter revolution. Kaiser's agents are said to be stirring mutiny among Petrograd troops and workers while coalition government efforts continue.
A meeting is called at the courthouse in Anniston at eight o clock this evening led by J B Carrington of the Chamber of Commerce. The city expects 35000 visiting soldiers and needs plans for entertainment housing and transportation. The camp payroll is projected at 1500000 monthly and no subscriptions will be asked.
Calhoun County drafts will reveal the number of men called to service with a 4 percent drawing method explained. Officials indicate the total quota for the county is small and the exact figures will be announced later in the day before ten o'clock.

Washington July 19 The War Department awarded the Annisinton guards concentration camp contract to Johnson O Chisolm Co of New Orleans Algernon Blair Co of Montgomery received the Montgomery camp contract.
The Calhoun county draft board led by Sheriff A. M. Borders and Dr. John F. Rowan readies the list of men to be drafted. Alabama totals show 13 613 recruits. Calhoun will supply 137 from the first draft, with Anniston contributing heavily to the state militia and reserve corps.
A new dipping vat started operation yesterday near the Sellers farm six miles west of town. Twenty four head of cattle were dipped with full success as farmers witnessed the event and many converted to the practice. County agent L G Prentice noted twelve vats in the county all proving effective in reducing tick infestation. At Boiling Springs M G Christian’s vat dipped thirty two head last week and now hosts bi monthly community dips. Two dogs were dipped yesterday and killed fleas in the solution, an incidental benefit reported by witnesses.
