Mr A H Quinn longtime secretary and treasurer of Woodstock Iron Works resigns his post in Anniston after years of faithful service. His future business plans are undecided but he is expected to stay in Anniston. He has been with Woodstock Iron Works for many years and is regarded as capable.
Montgomery July 11 Aclamation by Governor Jelks names Whitson to succeed Graham in state office. Whitson receives appointment as successor amid political changes in Alabama.
In a boastful ad text the pamphlet declares the disease is one of the most dangerous to infants but can be cured with Chamberlain's Coke Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy and castor oil as directed. It notes the product is for sale by J. L. Wikle and asserts a certain cure.
The Central Foundry Company's plant, closed for stock taking, will resume on Tuesday morning. Manager Cooper said stock taking ends Monday, enabling full operation to begin promptly next week.
The Alabama Supreme Court adjourned for the summer after disposing of rehearing requests from Calhoun county cases. James R. Draper vs Blackwell and Keith from Anniston City Court was reversed and rendered, while rehearings for Southern Car and Foundry Co. vs Phillips Jennings, W L Fullenwider vs Rowan, and Anniston Electric and Gas Co. vs W H Cooper were overruled.

Six prisoners fled the county jail in Gadsden after forcing an iron bar that had been filed, with only Ira Clark remaining jailed after briefly leaving to kiss his wife then returning. The escape list includes Joe Bird, Frank Green, Walter Williams, Ed Horton, and an inmate known as Red Boy, charged with assault.
In county court yesterday Judge Crook disposed of cases including Cora Bagley convicted of assault and battery with a $3460 fine and found not guilty on abusive language. Sam Pritchett acquitted of resisting an officer. Several cases continued until next Friday.
A woman portrayed as Enoch Arden returns to Rockford after a 21 year absence. Mrs Louise Olsen is the central figure. twenty-one years earlier she was injured in a railroad wreck near Buffalo New York and wandered to France while in a hazy mental state.
