Anniston experiences its largest building boom in a decade with new courts and government buildings under construction. Huntsville Man Killed in West on Santa Fe Train
Frank Sheppard of Huntsville Alabama was shot and killed in a Santa Fe passenger coach near San Bernardino California while resisting a thief. He was returning home from Manila and had fallen asleep when a robber grabbed his pocket, leading to a fatal gunfight. He leaves a wife and children. Remains taken to Albuquerque New Mexico.

Dowies Disciples Driven Out by Evanston Mob
Twenty one Dowie followers visited Evanston and faced a mob of about one thousand. Eggs rotten vegetables and missiles pelted the group as police, outnumbered with only thirty officers, failed to protect them. The missionaries fled under police escort after their meeting was abandoned.
