In Cleveland on January 29 the will of Capt J W Moore a wealthy vessel owner leaves to his nephew William A F Moore a fortune from a 500000 dollar estate. Moore now serving a nineteen year Sing Sing sentence gains a house on Duane street cash and a stake in the Lake fleet. The siblings share the balance of the estate. Fayne Moore is noted to be on the London stage.
A look back at Fayne Strahan before fame and marriage to Moore. Born in Anniston she later moved to Atlanta and New York where she became a social figure. The story traces her orbit with Moore from consular exile to financial ruin and trial consequences.

Evansville Indiana January 29 reports say cities along the Ohio River have launched a crusade against Negroes. The board of safety orders police to arrest all strange Negroes and present them to the city judge. Officials claim two thousand colored men refuse to work and frequent colored saloons and dives while election day bids determine who controls them.
The Monongahela River Consolidated Coal and Coke Co. booked what appears to be the largest single purchase for shipment by a coal exporter. A New Orleans agent will receive 200 coal boats averaging 2500 bushels each, totaling five million bushels at a premium of one cent per bushel over last year's average. All coal will go to New Orleans and be reexported to foreign ports. The notice also advertises wood for sale at McClurkin's wood yard.
Florence Alabama January 29 Sidney Prestell and Miss Annie Wiley two rural youths came to town for a marriage license Their engagement began two hundred days ago with a vow to save one penny daily Until two hundred pennies were saved they would wait Their trove funded the license and they wed for better or worse.
The Taberian Colonization Society shipped sixteen Alabama delegates from Birmingham at 6 am for New York to sail to Monrovia on the 31st. The advance party, from various Southern areas, will be followed by about 700 emigrants by fall. The Liberian government cooperates, and emigrants pay their own passage of 850 with payments arranged.
Montgomery January 29 The General Assembly met at noon and will likely sit for the remaining twenty three days. Governor Samford will deliver a brief message this afternoon focusing on state finances and treasury concerns. He is expected to urge conservatism in appropriations and may oppose repealing the back tax law while backing a pardoning board and textbook uniformity.
Star reporter notes Mr. J. B. Gilmore says the restaurant was sold through agents but he has withdrawn it from sale and will renew the lease for two years. He plans to refit and continue business at the same stand to boost Rumston’s dining pride.
Kansas City January 29 A young man forced W B Irvin cashier into a closet at the Standard Oil office and stole between 500 and 700 dollars. He locked the cashier inside and fled to a passing freight train. Police later arrested Ched Coverdale and Ralph Myers. Irvin identified Coverdale as the robber and the two men were found with 174 dollars. They offered a bribe to their captors.
A force of workers is repairing the Anniston Electric and Gas trestle over Snow Creek between Oxford and the Lake. New bents are being installed and foundations for others are being reinforced to secure the structure.
