Washington Jan 21 Colonel David A Lyle after 49 years of service on the retired list by age rule. He is noted as an inventor and author and, as Augusta Arsenal commandant and chief ordnance officer, contributed to the life saving service with the Lyle life saving gun now in use on ships and stations worldwide.
Valdosta Ga Jan 21 John W Hagan 74 former Populist leader and county commission chair marries Mrs Hodge aged about the same. This is the groom's third marriage and the bride's fourth. Both are financially sound with the bride owning $75000 in property in the city.
