Morrison on Trial in First Degree Murder Case

In Chattanooga Tennessee the State brings Julia Morrison alias James to circuit court for murder in the first degree after the September 22 fatal shooting of Frank Leidenheimer, New Orleans stage manager. English residents in Anniston plan to form a social club for entertainment and to strengthen community ties. Flo testified he was sent by Leidenheimer to summon Miss Morrison to appear for the first act. He found her in a toilet room and notified her the curtain awaited. She replied she would go and, upon reaching the stage, drew a 38 caliber revolver and fired three times at Leidenheimer without provocation.

Adkins Fined for Concealed Pistol in Jacksonville Area

James Adkins, a young white man from near Jacksonville, faced Judge Crook today on a concealed pistol charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined 850 plus costs, with a week to raise the money. If unable to pay, he may be sent to the mines. A larceny charge against Adkins awaits trial date.
