Washington Feb 13 The retirement of Gen John M Wilson and Gen Fitzhugh Lee will take effect after Senate confirms nominations as brigadiers. Gen Merriam commands Colorado and will assume Missouri duties. Gen Young, now major general, will lead California. Shafter will be appointed major general and retire.
The Calhoun county supreme court handed down yesterday includes Alt Truitt vs. W. Crook from Anniston city court affirmed and Taylor Powers vs. the State of Alabama from Calhoun circuit court affirmed. Also referenced is Cure Void in Wead. The Anniston Rolling Mill Company, capitalized at 50000 dollars, becomes active today after purchasing the idle plant of the old Anniston Rolling Mills. Birmingham February 13 The refusal of United States District Attaches to arrest Major torney William Vaughan sparked a political clash. Vaughan declined to be arrested unless a warrant accompanied by a sworn out charge from Schroder was presented. The matter was sent to Chief of Police Austin and Vaughan was released on own recognizance to face the Inferior Criminal Court.
Mr. T. A. Abernathy of Horse Creek and Miss Lenora Lloyd of Peaceburg were married at 11 o'clock. The ceremony is noted as a beloved community event with continuation on the last page.
