Vast scheme to rehabilitate western cattle ranges
Railroads in Omaha announce a sweeping plan to reseed and rehabilitate vast western grazing lands in Utah, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada, and Idaho. The project would test diverse range grasses at a 3,000 acre central site, using seeds from around the world to identify a hardy permanent grass with government and state funding to follow. R. J. Johnson of the Oregon Railway and Navigation Co. is slated to oversee early experimental work at his farm in Walla Walla, Washington.
