Mrs. Annie Wortham of 768 Mulberry avenue died of pneumonia this morning at 4 o'clock. The funeral will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon by Rev. A G Spinks with interment at Edgemont at 3 p m. She leaves her husband J C Wortham and a nine year old daughter.

Destructive Steamship Explosion Kills Four Whites in Mississippi
In Vicksburg yesterday the steamer W. T. Scovell exploded during the Davis Bend run. Four white victims are identified Captain John Quackenboss, W. D. Quackenboss, Lavell Yeager, and Joseph Esmith. Eight Black victims follow, with Yeager's body found under a crushed log. The blast hurled boiler fragments 200 yards and buried the vessel portions.

Fireworks Factory Explosion Kills and Hurts in Savannah
A dynamite blast at Joseph Carbo and John Niva’s fireworks plant in Savannah on Monday night killed one firefighter and fatally burned another, with an assistant chief and another fireman badly burned. The proprietors were injured and a boy hit by debris. The blast was caused by a boy who set off a torpedo among the explosives. the boy is the son of ex police chief Gerald and had a prior sentence of ten years from October 19, 1900, a subject of local pressure for his release.
