Washington December 14 The Schley Court of Inquiry findings were released after review by Secretary Long. Admirals Benham and Ramsay fault Schley on eleven points while Admiral Dewey fully vindicates him, praising dispatch and leadership in the Cuban theater and the destruction of the Spanish fleet.

William M. Meek a former Camp Shipp officer and captain in the Third Tennessee regiment died in Bayard MV after returning from the Philippines due to consumption. Once a leading Knoxville lawyer he later served as first lieutenant in the Thirty-seventh regiment before resigning for ill health. He leaves a widow and one child. burial will be in Knoxville.
