City Public Schools Show Marked Progress

A biweekly teachers meeting at Anniston public schools highlighted progress in soup drawing and geometry. Miss Stringfellow, Miss Agee, Miss Louis Johnston and Miss Martha Buchanan presented lessons on lines cubes spheres and cylinders while Supt Murphey and Mr Pelham spoke on proportions and scale.

Captive missionary to be freed amid Satonics surrender

A Telegraph dispatch reports the Satonics surrender near Miss Ellen Stone and her companion Mme Tsilka. A cable from Constantinople states the agent sent to Selonica has returned reporting both women alive and well.

Convict Bud Wilson Hanged Twice in Arkansas

Bud Wilson, a convict who killed R H Naylor in Yell county last September, was hanged at Danville. The trap triggered at 9 45 and the body was lowered at 10 05. The coffin moved as his body began to tremble, he was removed and hanged again after revival. Despite a second examination, doctors declared death from strangulation.

Death of Mr Wrack H Kewsey in Atlanta

After months of illness Mr Wrack H Kewsey died at 11 oclock at a brothers home in Atlanta of consumption and throat trouble. He was accompanied by Mrs Kessey and their young son and other relatives. He had married Lila Saywell of this city about three years ago and served in the US Army medical department in Manila. His death follows a prolonged decline in the Philippines climate and army service. Interment will occur here Monday.
