Rev. John A. May of West Anniston Methodist church will start a two week union meeting next Sunday at 4 PM in the well seated and lit beautiful grove. Soldier's widow seeks General Chaffee's life

Mrs Aimie White of Verde Arizona travels to New York to press charges against General Chaffee over alleged cruel treatment at Camp McDowell. She claims Chaffee ordered soldiers to burn her home and drive off cattle and says she will shoot if no settlement is reached. Salt Lake City Utah August 14 The grand lodge of Elks chose Baltimore as the meeting site for the 1903 annual reunion and closed its business with the new grand officers’ installation to be done today. Garner Robbed While Sleeping Near Union Station

B L Garner a journeyman carpenter was robbed of 10 dollars while sleeping in the grove west of the union passenger station last night. He planned to go to Birmingham but missed the train and awoke at about 3 o clock to find his money gone. Police were notified but no clue was found. Garner proceeded to Birmingham this morning with his ticket.

Cobb recounts alleged insult leading to street altercation

Col Cobb explains he faced insult from R H Johnson in front of the Morris hotel. Cobb says he did not strike first and claims Johnson called him a liar. Both men were arrested and Cobb posted bond for a court appearance next Tuesday. Several witnesses offered to accompany Cobb to Anniston.
