Severe windstorm hits Kansas City streets
Kansas City reports a 4 am windstorm lasting about 30 minutes with lightning and rain. Business districts saw broken plate glass fronts, torn signs, and overthrown awnings. Many trees toppled, windows shattered, and homes suffered losses as debris filled sidewalks at daybreak.
