Police found a large fortified cave half way up a city mountain in the southwest. A tree trunk hides a trap leading to a descent and a dirt covered top. It was likely meant for counterfeiters but the gang was captured before work began. Officers Cooper and Glosson explored the cave but found no builders or plans.
Talladega county voted no dispensary yesterday by 150 majority. Talladega beat gave the dispensary 108 majority, but the rest of the county was practically solid against it.
Mamie Wapunowski, fifteen months old in Brooklyn, weighs about six pounds and has never learned to creep or toddle. The frail child, one of seven in the family at 185 Bedford Avenue, shows no sign of illness, with a delicate face, blue eyes, and a body about fifteen inches long.

RaLeigen North Carolina August 5 Over 100 Negroes returned to this state from New York and vicinity yesterday. Relatives greeted them at Raleigh Weldon stations and many cried out of joy. They report a plan to leave the north in large numbers and come back south. Some had been away for years others only months. Returns from the west have already begun.
A strange worm, unknown to local scientists, attacks tree leaves across the Tennessee valley south of Decatur Alabama. The pale yellow worm measures about three quarters of an inch, features a square saddlelike green back spot bordered in white with a yellow center and white ring, two hornlike prongs on its back, and a beardlike covering. It appeared just weeks ago, prompting concern among residents and scientists.
